Humble title for such a big celebration, eh?

Football has the Super Bowl, Basketball has March Madness, and Wrestling has Wrestlemania, that is what the month of May means to me in relation to Scale Wars.

This month is a celebration, not only for the anniversary of Toxie/Scale Wars, but also because it is the anniversary of this site, this year makes 9 years I have had a web site (if you don't count the hiatus I took for 2 years).  Both have been fun, rewarding, aggravating, and labors of love.  I have redone this site more times than I can count and each time it get closer to something I can be proud of.  Am I there yet, nope, but that isn't a terrible thing as it keeps improving.  If you happen to remember the humble beginnings of this site from 2002, you have to admit it keeps improving and changing.  Also if you go back to the humble beginnings of Toxie and Scale Wars, you will realize I have been redoing the entire site for a few months now.  The look is totally different and I am nearly done, I think it looks pretty cool overall, hope you do too.

So the big question I suppose is what am I doing this year.  Well quite a few things, first and most important I am bringing back a bunch of old content.  Many of you might remember that old GI Joe story I did that I took off line about 5 years ago, well I am putting it back up and bigger than that I am adding in what the ending was too be.  I am not producing it in full but I am going to write out most of the major plot points and what would have happened if so many things had not gone the way they had gone.  It's primitive, weird, kind of embarrassing to be honest but enough people have asked me about it to warrant me putting it back up.

Also, I am going to be putting up my part of the old Joecustoms Dio-Award shows.  This more than anything is the work that lead directly to what you see here.  Toxie's 1:18th Universe was a direct result of the discontinuation of the Awards shows.  If you are new around here (and many of you are) I hope you will enjoy this rare look into the earliest ideas for Toxo-Zombie and the merry adventures of the characters of 1:18th town.  Trust me they are fun.

Of course there is the update a day format for the entire month.  I also have a few more plans that I hope will be ready by the time the 28th rolls around.  Work is still being done on those fun and different and hopefully surprising moments that will be something to remember.

In addition, the next two issues (#40 and #41) are two issues I have been looking forward to putting up.  Not to over hype but these issues I hope will catch many off guard and will be something memorable.   I have had issues I am very proud of but the next two are something I thought was way cool when I came up with it over the winter (yes it took me that long to get to it) and I hope you think so as well.  As always it should be something different and off the wall to entertain.

When all is said and done I hope you enjoy and laugh and are in awe and all the great emotions I feel as I put all of this together.

Why do I do all of this?  Why do I make this comic and crank this stuff out day after day, week after week, month after month?   I love action figures, love this crazy collection I have, ultimately I wanted to use them for something cool.   I think that at the end of the day if you look over everything, you could say it's not perfect, you can say it's silly, you can say it's not your cup of tea, but it is something different, something off the wall, and you can't say I slept though it.  I am proud of a vast majority of what is on this site, even the time the GI Joes were banished to the girl's room.

Stories are fun, and I am glad those who have enjoyed them really have enjoyed them.   They are the MOST important part of anything I do and will continue to be as long as I am doing this site.
