So you must be thinking what the heck is this. Well its not as detailed as a review like General Hawk is known for. Nor is it as personal as one of Mike T's forgotten figures review. Nor is this in anyway as definitive as the Definitive figure project. Basically this is an overview of the GI Joe toyline in celebration of the 25th anniversary of GI Joe. This is my memories, thoughts, ideas, and viewpoints of GI Joe with its release of the 25th anniversary collection as well as GI Joe itself over the past 25 years.
When I first picked up the 25th anniversary figures I was flooded with memories. Memories of not only GI Joe but of life at the time. My idea is to take a figure as I receive it and to go back over the previous releases I own discussing thoughts on them all and including things such as repaints for other characters, as well as customs I have done with parts from said figures over the years. This won't be as comprehensive of every version of the figure since of course I don't own them all. However in some cases I actually bring up why I don't own that version as well as my reasoning for choosing the figures I chose to represent the classic characters of the GI Joe mythos despite scale issues and the like.
This is a history of GI Joe, but not as we have seen before. This is my personal history. Events that shaped my views of Joes as well as the world and how it effected things around me. Its a very personal journey and I hope you enjoy it for what it is, a walk down memory lane and hopefully a walk to remember.
I hope you enjoy this as much as I have putting together for you. Just click the links below to see each entry.
